Self-Esteem

Do you often struggle with how you are viewed by others or find yourself questioning your self-worth?

You may feel like others are constantly criticizing you or pointing out every flaw or mistake that you make.  In an attempt to avoid the constant critical eye of others you may strive for perfection that always seems to fall just out of your reach.  Self-esteem is just one way of describing the story that we tell ourselves about ourselves.  The way that you view your strengths, your weaknesses, your obstacles and opportunities are all impacted by your self-esteem.  Having a positive self-image and healthy level of self-esteem is important in enabling you to explore your full potential.

The therapists here understand that spending a lifetime trying to please others or comparing ourselves to others is a recipe for unhappiness and regret.  We can help you to develop a healthy sense of self.  Our aim is to assist you in leaving behind past habits and regrets while building the very best version of yourself in this present moment.  Improving your self-esteem is not about repeating mantras in a mirror or “faking it until you make it.”  There is a true science to personal achievement and controlling the inner dialogue that shapes the beliefs, that fuel your emotions, that dictate your actions.  Shaping a healthy and beneficial self-image is a life altering process that our team is always excited to contribute to.

What is Self-Esteem?

Self-esteem is our belief of our own personal worth or value. When we experience low self-esteem we often have trouble liking ourselves or viewing who we are objectively. A lack of self-esteem can negatively impact our ability to make decisions, decrease our motivation and create beliefs that we are not good enough or are unworthy. This can cause us to stop ourselves before even trying a new thing because we already believe we are incapable of doing it.
